Single Term Connectors
How-to instruction video for the DEUTSCH Single Terminal Connectors.
DTHD Series
Contact Insertion
- Hold the connector with the rear grommet facing you.
- Push contact straight into contact cavity until a click is heard/felt. A slight tug will ensure the contact is inserted correctly.
Contact Removal
- Hold the connector so that the rear grommet is facing you.
- Using the correct size plastic removal tool, snap the tool over the wire.
- Slide the tool along the wire into the cavity until it engages the contact and resistance is felt. NOTE: Do not twist or insert tool at an angle.
- Pull the contact and wire assembly out of the connector.
DTSK Series
Contact Insertion
- Begin with a stripped wire.
- Wire seal grommets are required in order to maintain an environmental seal. Slide the wire seal into place on the stripped wire.
- To crimp Ø8mm contacts, use a hex shaped crimp per NFC 20.130 standard. For full specifications, refer to DEUTSCH drawing 8925-003-0000.
- Remove the integrated TPA secondary lock with a DT-RT1 removal tool
- While holding the wire seal in place, push the contact straight into the rear of the connector until you hear and feel a click.
- Return the TPA and push to close.
Contact Removal
- Begin by removing the integrated TPAs with a DT-RT1 removal tool.
- Release the locking fingers by moving them away from the shoulder of the contact, while gently pulling the wire through the rear of the connector.
Jiffy Splice
Contact Insertion
- Hold the Jiffy Splice between your thumb and forefinger approximately one half inch behind the cavity
- Push the contact straight into the Jiffy Splice until you hear and feel a click. A slight tug will confirm that the contact is properly locked into place.
- Repeat the same process for the other side of the Jiffy Splice.
Contact Removal
- Using the correct size plastic removal tool, snap the tool over the wire.
- Slide the tool along the wire into the Jiffy Splice until it engages the contact and resistance is felt. NOTE: Do not twist or insert tool at an angle.
- Pull the contact and wire assembly out of the Jiffy Splice.
